Privacy Choices

Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have specific rights over your personal information. This page explains what those rights are and how to exercise them.

1

Right to Access Your Data

You have the right to know what personal information Poll City holds about you and to receive a copy of that information.

For Poll City Campaign OS users: Go to Settings → Import / Export → Download Your Data for a complete export of your account data.

For Poll City Social users and all others: Email privacy@poll.city with the subject “Data Access Request.” Include your registered email address. We will respond within 30 days.

2

Right to Correct Your Data

If your personal information held by Poll City is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated, you have the right to request a correction.

For account profile information (name, email, postal code): update it directly in your account settings at any time.

For other data: Contact privacy@poll.city describing the correction needed. We will review and respond within 30 days.

3

Right to Delete Your Account

You have the right to request deletion of your Poll City account and associated personal information.

See our full Account Deletion page for step-by-step instructions, what happens to your data, and what is retained for legal compliance.

4

Right to Withdraw Consent

Campaign Communications

If you have received campaign emails or SMS messages through Poll City and no longer wish to receive them:

  • Click the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any campaign email. This immediately stops all future emails from that campaign.
  • Reply STOP to any campaign SMS message. This immediately stops all future SMS from that campaign.
  • Visit poll.city/unsubscribe and enter your email address.

Poll City Social — Campaign Data Sharing

If you previously consented to share your information with a campaign through Poll City Social (for example, by requesting a lawn sign or expressing support), you can revoke that consent at any time:

  • In the Poll City Social app: tap your profile → Privacy → “Campaigns you’ve connected with” → revoke for any campaign listed.
  • Email privacy@poll.city to revoke all data sharing consents.

Note: Revoking consent prevents future use but does not delete data that has already been transferred to a campaign. Contact the campaign directly to request deletion of their copy.

5

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to receive a copy of your personal data in a machine-readable format.

For Campaign OS users: Go to Settings → Import / Export → Download Your Data to download a CSV/JSON export of your account data at any time.

For Poll City Social users: Email privacy@poll.city with the subject “Data Portability Request.” We will prepare and send your data export within 30 days.

Contacting the Privacy Officer

For any of the rights above, you can reach Poll City’s Privacy Officer at:
